Things That Annoy Me About Other Girls

Sparkler thereal_Ang told us she was Writing While Grumpy, a dangerous activity indeed, and that's how this post was born. It's a list of everything that bothers her about other girls. We have a feeling many Sparklers feel the same way, so we'll turn off our judgment caps for the next five minutes while you vent. —SparkNotes editors

Thing I Can't Stand #1: The flirt chuckle (aka the flurkle)

This isn’t the average laugh you hear from this girl when her brother spills his milkshake all over his lap. This one is louder, more high pitched, and sounds somewhat similar to the witch cackle heard in The Wizard of Oz. Usually followed by an even higher pitched, “Thats SOOO funny!!!” Only done around men.

#2: Overly touchy-ness

“What? Joey and Amanda aren’t going out?! I guess I always assumed they were cause she’s always grabbing his hand, running her hands through his hair, or stroking his face gently.” You can spot overly touchy girls from a mile away, usually because they’re flurkling while they touch. If you are a guy with one of these women on your tail, RUN! It’s all you can do! Tell them your dog got loose, you’re chasing the ice cream truck, etc.

#3: Gossip

This one I hate most of all. Seriously. No, I really don’t care if Richard broke up with Keisha for Jessica, who really likes Billy, who really likes Andrea, who's dating Blake but really likes…HOLY CRAP! WHO CARES? There are better things to talk about, ladies.

#4: Expanded words

This applies to typing only. Okay, expanding your vowels in excitement is one thing (i.e. "Going to the pep rally tonight. WOOOOOO!"), but expanding all your words?!?! Seriously I’ve seen so many status updates on Facebook that were like “Hangin outtttt with Kelseyyyyyy be back laterrrrrrrr!" What the heck, no one talks like that.

#5: Emotional madness

Everybody sing:"Let's force emotional girls to all wear mood rings, oh oh oh.”

*Sigh* If only it were that simple. One girl recently came up to my sister and said “Omigosh *insert boy name* hates me cause he threw a water balloon at me! Omigosh omigosh omigosh...!” I haven’t met one overly emotional girl I haven’t wanted to slap upside the head.

The problem is that most girls blame their meltdowns on guys. They say, “Oh my gosh, guys are just SOOO complicated!” No, they’re really not. They don’t have underlying motives for everything. Seriously, if I guy opens a door for you, he’s trying to be nice. If he throws a water balloon at you, he wants to see you react. It's as simple as that.
