We’ve always secretly dreamed of being that guy who announces forthcoming action flicks. You know: "In a world where aliens attack, the apocalypse is imminent, and there might also be a dinosaur, only the strong and Dakota Fanning will survive. Revenge of the 2012 Aliens 2. Coming this March. If the world still exists."
This is probably the closest we'll get to that dream:
Three students. Three new books. Three original film trailers.
Let the carnage begin.
Intrigued? Here’s the story: When you're a young filmmaker, recognition is tough to come by. But the Kirkus 2009 Teen Book Video Awards offer a chance for young filmmakers to show their stuff, and this year their stuff is crazy impressive. And if there's one thing we like here on SparkLife, it's promoting the work of the young, ambitious, and arty. Plus, the finalists have really cute names.
Student filmmakers Ben, Rosie, and Brighton each made a video trailer for a new YA novel (Fallen, Very LeFreak, and The Maze Runner), and they’re competing for your votes! The filmmakers’ trailers are up on the Barnes & Noble Studio site, and we hope you'll watch them all, pick your favorite, and maybe even discover exciting new reading material.
We'll announce the winner in November, so cast your vote asap!
