"There's No Such Thing as a Saturday," and Other Potential Viral Crazes

There's a new virus making its way through China. Don't panic—we're not talking about a mutant strain of SARS or swine flu. We're talking about a bizarre but harmless viral phenomenon that began a few months ago.

It started as an anonymous post on a World of Warcraft gaming forum that said, "Jia Junpeng, your mom is calling you to come home and eat."  The phrase caught on and started appearing everywhere: on t-shirts, in commercials, in songs. It even has its own Wikipedia page.

This got us thinking: If "Jia Junpeng" can become a digital meme, why can't we create our own viral phenomenon? Using a completely unscientific formula, we've come up with a handful of potential phrases. Which ones are worthy of internet fame? You decide. Here are the contenders:

  • "The sock puppets are out for revenge. Take cover!"
  • "There is no such thing as a Saturday."
  • "I'm a pigeon baby? No, you're a pigeon baby."
  • "Pick a pack of paper peddles, why doncha?"
  • "Woodland sprites make terrible friends. Just ask the trees."
  • "That Triceratops is named Bob. Bob is a good dinosaur name."
  • "Let's collect seashells on the moons of Saturn."
  • "Your scrambled eggs are showing."
  • "Will we ever find our way back to the glory of purple?"
  • "Can a basement have a basement?"
  • "Your momma always said 'Don't tie your shoes without touching your knees.'"
  • "10 fingers, 10 toes, and bright shiny pimple. Yeahhhh, I'm human."
  • "There's no room in this parking lot for minivans and station wagons."
  • "Dessert is for weenies. Weenies are for dessert."
  • "I bet you don't even know what a polka dotted zebra looks like."
