Songs that Will Shock You Out of Bed

Sparkler thereal_Ang has put together a perfect wake-you-up mix, but it's not for lovers of music that's mainstream, mellow, and melodic. Those of you who like your music with a side of angry will love thereal_Ang's playlist! —SparkNotes Editors

Let's face it, unless you're a total morning person, your brain does not function at school till second or third period. My personal solution has been to listen to heavy rock music before school. Nothing can wake you up better than some heavy guitar and loud drum beats. I put together this list of some songs I've been listening to lately. I hope it helps jolt you out of bed, too!

1. "Fire It Up" by Thousand Foot Krutch

Recently used in a GI Joe: Rise of Cobra promo, this is a great power song. Heavy guitar, loud drums, great vocals. Everything you could ask for in a rock song.

2. "Monster" by Skillet

Kind of on the edge of hard rock and rock, this song is great for any playlist. Plus, it has a sick music video.

3. "The Feel Good Drag" by Anberlin

A bit more well-known than most of my music, Anberlin is amazing. Seriously, I'm pretty sure it's impossible to hate their music. This song is heavy, with one screamo portion that's pretty awesome.

4. "Fading" by Decyfer Down

Heavy guitar, loud drums, good lyrics, great band. (This song was introduced to me by my amazing bud, Greg, so if you like this song too, thank Greg, not me.)

5. "The Feeling" by Kutless

This is a total rock out, head bang, party kind of rock song. The guitar on this one is pretty sweet.

6. "Punk Rawk Show" by MxPx

OK, this song isn't obscure, and it's more punk rock (obviously), but you won't regret listening to it. Plus, it never hurts to see some guys with blue and green hair.
