The Cutest Pets

Along with good vs. evil, hot vs. cold, and Harry Potter vs. Twilight, cat people vs. dog people is one of the most basic of rivalries. Cat people like to point out that their feline friends bathe themselves, never make too much noise, and can curl up comfortably on your lap. Dog people argue that their canine pals are more fun, will learn tricks, and can be used to hunt foxes.

But cat AND dog people overlook the hundreds of other great pets out there, plenty of whom are just as cuddly as kittens and as lovable as dogs. For all of our animal loving Sparklers out there, we suggest the following:

Rabbits (aka “Bunnies”)
Scientifically speaking, there’s almost nothing cuter than bunnies. Look at their ears! Look at their little tails! Look at the way they hop around! Plus, they’re small enough that you could own a bunch of them.

Fawns
Did we say nothing was cuter than bunnies? Of course, fully-grown deer are way too big to be indoor pets, so you’d better have one huge back yard. But that doesn’t mean that those of us who live in apartments can’t dream.

Snakes
Of course, some people prefer pets that are less traditionally cute. Caring for a snake can be challenging, and their feedings habits may disturb vegetarians, but nothing livens up a social situation like a person wearing a boa constrictor.

Lovebirds
Compared to a kitten, pet birds often seem a lot less cuddly. Which is why ultra touchy-feely lovebirds are a good option. Not only can you teach them to talk, they’ll also save you money. According to this website, “one love bird is all that you need to own to enjoy life.”

Pigs
Pigs are typically thought of as food, but they make great pets: they’re smarter than dogs and just as adorable. Aww… how could somebody eat this guy?
