Sparkler camipop suggested this week's highlighted artist: The Jacob Jeffries Band. The South Florida foursome—fronted by young Jacob, a powerpop pianist raised on The Beatles and Queen—has been gaining a steady audience over the last couple of years, with recent high-profile gigs at South by Southwest in Austin and the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. Their sound is tight, melodic, upbeat piano rock. In other words, it's summer-friendly.
Most of the group's online videos are live, single-camera recordings. But we think you'll get the gist from clips like this one for the song "Astronomy":
