Are You Sexier Than a Fifth Grader?

Are You Sexier Than a Fifth Grader?

If you have a younger sibling, take note: Something weird is happening to our fourth graders. What do we mean? Well! Why not have a look at these pictures of Miley Cyrus’s nine-year-old little sis and her pals, frolicking and posing and making ridiculous sexyfaces, as they dance gleefully around what appears to be…well…a stripper pole.

Say it with us, now: WHAT THE—

Oh, hello, Mom and Dad…no, I was just going to say…um, “flea.” What the FLEA!

The sexualization of little kids isn’t a recent trend, but we still think it’s pretty crazy. (Not to mention a huge waste of the only time in your life when, since nobody expects you to be sexy, you’re totally free to spend your days playing Wii with your hair unbrushed and the remains of a cherry popsicle sticking to your butt. You can’t do that when you’re 20!…Trust us, we tried.) But if you thought pole-dancing nine-year-olds was the worst it could get, guess again: recent history has given us a whole slew of yuck-inducing developments:

- 2001: Big-headed, scantily-clad Bratz dolls arrive on the tween toy scene.
- 2002: Abercrombie and Fitch gets lambasted for selling thong underwear… designed for ten-year-olds.
- 2008: A new video game for tweens, in which players compete to become “the hottest of the hot Bimbos,” is released.
- 2009: 13-year-old “Miss Teen Queen” pageant contestants in the UK pose for provocative photographs. Everyone freaks out.

And finally…

This week: Spanish toymakers release a new doll that allows little kids to simulate breastfeeding.

Okay, that's just awful. We have a winner!

Do racy products aimed at kids cross the line? Or were you sporting a thong by sixth grade? Tell us what you think in the comments!
