Sparklish 101 (Are You a Fribaby?!)
Whether you're new to SparkLife or have been around forever (like, I dunno, April) the following dictionary by Sparkler peaceonearth34 will help you put those recurring SparkLife-y feelings into words! —SparkNotes Editors
The community of Sparklers is so broad, so exciting, so different, that we totally deserve our own language by now. Therefore, I'm pleased to welcome you to Sparklish 101! Or Sparkese for Idiots, if you prefer.
Sparklish is a complex lexicon for Sparkler use in comments sections, Sparkler posts, and captions on Cute Thing of the Week. Think of Sparklish as your second language (or third, for all you show-offs).
Auntiedote—(n.) (ANN-tee-dote) Auntie Sparknotes' solution to a relationship issue. "I received a fabulous auntiedote last week, and now my boyfriend and I are back together!"
Awescar—(n.) (AW-scar) The most awesome, awesome thing of the week ever! "The stop motion sticky notes video is an awescar!"
Chrisening—(v.) (KRIS-en-ing) An important rite of passage in a Sparkler's life: the day when Chris answers one of their questions. "My chrisening was last week, when Chris helped me resolve a fight with my friend."
Cutetation—(n.) (kyoo-TAY-shun) The winning caption for the Cute Thing of the Week. "Last week's cutetation was so funny, it broke my computer."
Danamaniac—(n.) (Dan-a-MANE-ee-ack) A Sparkler obsessed with Dan and his blog to the point of marriage proposals and the occasional stalking episode. "My best friend is such a danamaniac that she has a pair of Dan's boxers framed on her wall."
Fribaby—(n.) (FRY-bay-bee) A Sparkler who is so sad about not winning a Friday Award that s/he cries about it. "Peaceonearth34 is such a fribaby!" (Am not!)
Sparklish is an ever-growing language, so submit your new words below!
