Harry Potter Freakout: HOLYOMG It's Finally Here!

It’s finally happening, Sparklers! We've been getting ready with cast gossip, “spelling” lessons, and even an advice-seeking cameo from poor Little Lord Voldemort (yeah, he loves it when we call him that), and now the big event is finally here: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will premier tonight at the witchy/wizardly hour of 12:00 AM.

Sadly, the SparkNotes editor in charge of Potter Mania (uh, that would be me) was unable to snag a ticket to one of tonight’s inaugural showings, which means that I’m relying on you to attend in my place—preferably dressed in full Gryffindor regalia, or at the very least, a T-shirt that says, “Save the blast-ended skrewts!” (Do send pictures of your getups to advice@sparknotes.com; don’t leave any spoiler-y comments afterwards; those who do will be harshly penalized in the form of the Slug-Vomiting Charm.)

Meanwhile, we’ve got just a few hours to go until the curtain goes up on HP6, and your SparkNotes editors wouldn’t want you to waste them! So before you start sewing individual sequins onto your dress robes, or dressing up your cat in a Dobby outfit, consider entertaining yourself until midnight with the following Potter-centric bits and bobs:

• The complete L.A. Times countdown to HP6, with interviews, schedules, and all the gossip you’ll ever need. (Contains some spoilers—consider yourselves forewarned.)
• Fashion coverage from the world premiere. (Contains no spoilers, unless you count Daniel Radcliffe’s horrendous suit.)
