If you aren't done with school yet, you probably have some tests left this year, and they're most likely the really big ones.
Let us at SparkNotes share a few tips for getting through these last stressful days.
The Underwear Fantasy. The clichéd advice about imagining your audience in its underwear for any kind of performance or public speaking engagement is as old as stage fright itself—or, at least, as old as underwear. But it doesn't really apply to a test. Instead, imagine yourself in your underwear. Worrying about how you look will certainly take your mind off worrying about how you're taking your future into your hands along with a number two pencil.
Positive Visualization. "The Secret" isn't really a secret anymore, since so many people claim to have found success with it. Here's how it works: simply visualize yourself after the test, swelling with the sense of euphoria that accompanies completing a hard or stressful task. Before you know it, you'll be there in real life. Oh, and don't worry about whether you paused from your visualization long enough to actually take the test; someone will tell you if you didn't.
Procrastination. Too much studying can make you feel trapped inside your own head. An occasional study break isn't a bad thing, as long as you don't overdo it. And if you do overdo it, go back to the two previous tips and hope for the best.
