With money tight, and costs going up, you need to make your gaming dollar go further than ever before. Buying new games is expensive. Buying used games is cheap, but only by so much. Buying no games at all is free, but then you have nothing to play. Or do you?
The truth is that there are a lot of places online where you can play games absolutely free. Yahoo Games, OneMoreLevel, and even Free Online Games have more games than you could possibly play in one sitting, unless you've been tied to your chair. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection. And from where we're sitting, it kind of looks like you've got that covered.
There's more than just free Pong and Tetris too. Every genre is represented. Plus many games have multiplayer modes so you can play online and turn your friends into enemies, or just make new enemies.
And you can't beat the price. With the money you save on purchasing games, just imagine how much more Red Bull you can buy.
Now, sure, you don't get the cachet of showing off your latest and greatest game platform, or brag about how you camped outside the store for a week so you could be the first to play the next Grand Theft Auto. But there's something to be said for the cool points you can get by being the one to introduce your group of friends to, say, "Conan O'Brien the Barbarian."
There's way more out there than we can get into in this post, so use the comments to recommend your favorite free games and game portals. Or issue a blanket challenge to fellow readers.
